As a peer mentor at Jamestown Community College, you'll support your mentees and assist with incoming student events. Compensation is minimum wage. Work study is not required.
Position description:
- Assist with advisement preparation sessions and orientation
- Serve as a group guide
- Greet and inform new students and their family members about JCC services and policies
- Participate in student leadership opportunities
- Act as a peer contact for student questions and/or concerns throughout the semester
- Guide students to campus services and activities
- Assist students with Banner, Brightspace, and gmail
- Assist students in finding information on college policies and dates
- Assist students in making wise choices to help them reach academic/personal/career goals
- Organize and participate in group activities and one-on-one sessions with mentees
- Attend regular supervision meetings with the Peer2Peer program supervisor
- Complete program paperwork including mentor/mentee meeting notes
- Complete information needed for bi-weekly payroll including mentee progress notes
